finally! i have a WACOM Bamboo. gerry and i coughed up a couple of thousands and went to gilmore yesterday to pick up "panda chow". it's not exactly what's in my Christmas list, but heck, this is definitely more than enough for now. yay!

for the first time, i was impressed with windows vista because it can recognize handwriting. ugh, too bad i'm only XP. but then again, i'm still getting what i'm after: the capacity to finally draw freely. we celebrated panda chow's birthday by watching three very sweet and lighthearted Japanese flicks, which inspired me to a chibi rendition of my favorite character:
gyabo. i have a feeling my deviantart account will be resurrected soon.

"One Gold-winning print campaign caught my attention, though possibly not in the manner intended. Designed for MTV in Argentina, it consists of three separate ads, each of which shows a pair of faces side by side. On the right sides are instantly recognizable celebrities: Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, and Marilyn Manson. They need no identification, and receive none. The faces on the left, on the other hand, were not familiar to me. And this turned out to be the gag. Small text at the bottom of the ads reads "on the left, Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone" (or "Alexander Fleming, discoverer of penicillin" or "Marie Curie, first female recipient of the Nobel Prize"), followed by a simple MTV logo. The suggestion being that MTV has an amazing ability to drive our culture's interests—which I found less an advertisement for MTV and more a deeply depressing truth."

my mind is the mrt train that stopped running, the sky that still hasn't decided on a mood. even as the computer screen flickers and comes to life and the lines connecting the processes beg for rerouting, my brain remains unresponsive and blank.

maybe it's the rain, or that i'm still grieving over my lost tooth. or maybe i really just have no brain right now, because all of it (or at least the functional 10%) has broken down into pixels and travelled down the wires of my dreams. maybe not, but it does feel like i'm missing you too much.

Fast-paced editing, heart-wrenching story, unpredictable plot, stunning visuals, real characters and agonizing cliffhangers. It's superb all the way, even with the relentless Pizza Hut plugging. I've seen each episode four times over despite my hectic schedule. It's like a drug that I can't keep away from. The background music keeps playing in my head.

The plot goes like this: After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, did nothing to pursue the terrorists who murdered his mother and crippled his sister, a young boy named Lelouch vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later, in Area 11 which is the former Japan, he encounters a mysterious girl who gives him the power of the Geass that allows him to make people act as he dictates. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.

It's Death Note all over again, but this time, LeLouch feels like any other human does. I wish I can march by his side as he tears the world apart in his search for a little kindness.
